ABU DHABI: Just two weeks after its launch, the ‘Together for Education’ campaign has raised more than AED65 million. Organised jointly by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Authority of Social Contribution (Ma’an) under the theme ‘Equipping minds, shaping futures’, the campaign aims to direct community contributions towards supporting low-income families in Abu Dhabi by covering overdue school fees.

The campaign has received impressive support from major contributors, individuals, businesses, and public and private sector entities, all united to uphold the right of every student in the UAE to receive a quality education.

The ‘Together for Education’ campaign continues to welcome contributions until 15th October, 2024, via the Ma’an online platform or ATMs, with deposits made to the official bank account (AE130354031003988349007) at First Abu Dhabi Bank in the UAE dirham. The campaign aims to raise AED100 million through contributions from individuals and corporations across the Abu Dhabi co
mmunity to support 6,000 students. The project will also assist in covering the operational costs of eligible schools in the UAE, as well as providing necessary school supplies.

Mohamed Haji Al-Khoury, Director-General of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, highlighted how the ‘Together for Education’ campaign reflects the Foundation’s strong focus on education as a key driver of progress towards a brighter future. “Our support for this campaign embodies our commitment to helping those who face barriers to completing their education,” Al-Khoury stated.

“The response we’ve seen since the launch reflects the strong culture of social solidarity in our community and underscores the UAE’s leading role in humanitarian efforts. We are confident this momentum will continue, allowing us to achieve our objectives and create a lasting, positive impact on the lives of students,’ he added.

Abdullah Al Ameri, Director-General of Ma’an, noted that the campaign embodies the Authority’s vision of creating collabora
tive communities to drive social impact, enabling individuals and organisations to contribute meaningfully and building a flourishing culture of giving.

‘We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the campaign,” Al Ameri said. “Their generosity helps us achieve our goals of providing essential supplies and fulfilling the aspirations of students, ultimately empowering them to advance their skills and contribute positively to their communities, while ensuring a bright professional future for them.’

The ‘Together for Education’ campaign aims to support students from low-income families, offering them the opportunity to complete their education and build a better future for themselves and their communities. It further strengthens Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s contributions to humanitarian efforts, underscores the Emirati society’s commitment to initiatives that support community cohesion, and reinforces the values of giving and social solidarity for which the UAE is known.

Applications for support throu
gh the campaign can be submitted via the Ma’an website with federal and local entities assisting in selecting beneficiaries.
