New York – Ma’an – The plenary session of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly will begin in New York today, Tuesday.
The session, which is being held this year under the theme: ‘Leaving no one behind: working together to advance peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations,’ will continue until Saturday, 28 September, and will conclude on Monday, 30 September 2024.
On Thursday, September 26, President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to deliver the State of Palestine’s speech before the General Assembly.
The current session of the General Assembly witnessed a historic event when the State of Palestine obtained an official seat among the member states of the General Assembly for the first time during the opening session, in implementation of a decision issued last May.
