The occupation prevents the Friday call to prayer from the Ibrahimi Mosque

The Israeli occupation forces prevented the call to prayer for Friday prayers from the minarets of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron, and obstructed citizens’ access to it to perform the prayer.

Director of Hebron Endowments, Ghassan Al-Rajabi, said that the occupation prevented the call to prayer for Friday prayers from the minarets of the sanctuary, and prevented large numbers of citizens from performing Friday prayers inside it, which forced them to pray in its courtyard. It also prevented the call to prayer for dawn from its minarets for the 23rd consecutive time.

He added that the occupation forces present at the military checkpoints set up at the gates of the Ibrahimi Mosque searched citizens and checked their identities.

Yesterday, the occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque, tightened their repressive measures against citizens in the Old City, and prevented the entry of employees of the Endowments and Religious Affairs Department into it, under the pretext of Jewish holidays.

The occ
upation authorities completely close the Ibrahimi Mosque for 10 days a year, under the pretext of Jewish holidays, and deprive Palestinian worshippers of the right to pray there.
