HEBRON – Ma’an – Israeli occupation forces arrested 6 citizens at dawn today during raids and searches in the towns of Dura, Bani Naim and As-Samu, and confiscated vehicles.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces raided the village of Kharsa in the city of Dura, and stormed homes, during which Ahmed Akram Abu Muqaddam was arrested. The occupation forces also raided the nearby village of Tabqa, and the soldiers destroyed a banner on which were hung pictures of the martyrs of the city of Dura.
The occupation forces also stormed the town of Bani Naim, raided homes and arrested the deputy secretary of the Fatah movement in Bani Naim, Ali Darwish Zaidat, Musa Muhammad Musa Abu Sakout, who works as a teacher in a school, and Arif Marai Zaidat.
Citizens Saed Ayoub Al-Hawamdeh and Yousef Ali Al-Hawamdeh from the town of As-Samu were also arrested.
In a related context, Rateb al-Jabour, coordinator of the popular and national committees to resist the wall and settlements in southern Hebron, said that th
e occupation forces stormed the village of Susya, south of Hebron, raided the home of the head of the village council, Jihad al-Nawaj’a, searched it, and tampered with its contents. They handed his son, Muhammad, a summons to report to their intelligence, tore up pictures of the late President Yasser Arafat, confiscated an agricultural tractor belonging to citizen Hatem Makhamreh, and severely beat his son, who suffered a broken foot. He was transferred to Abu al-Hasan al-Qasim Hospital in Yatta to receive treatment.
Al-Jabour added that the occupation forces also raided the Ashkara School near the so-called Susya camp and the Carmel area in Masafer Yatta and seized a number of citizens’ vehicles.
