The Ministers of Tourism, Antiquities, Local Government and Culture inspect historical and archaeological sites in Hebron


Hebron – together – in implementation of the direction of the Palestinian government and the Prime Minister to communicate with citizens in light of the daily suffering caused by the occupation and its measures, and within the framework of preserving the history, heritage and identity of the Palestinian people and their archaeological sites, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Hani Al-Hayek, Engineer Sami Hijjawi, Minister of Local Government, and Imad Hamdan, Minister of Culture, visited the committee. Reconstruction of Hebron, the Old City of Hebron, and a number of archaeological and historical sites owned by the Old City of Hebron, accompanied by the Governor of Hebron Governorate, Mr. Khaled Dudin, and Saleh Tawafsheh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

tribute to alleviating the daily suffering of citizens. These tours contribute to sending a message that emphasizes the historical and archaeological importance of the Old City of Hebron. Al-Hayek stressed the importance of what was previously accomplished in cooperation with various partners in registering the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Old City of Hebron on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. He stressed the continuation of work to add archaeological and historical sites in Palestine to this important, global list in a message to the world that we are a people deserving of freedom and salvation. From the occupation and the establishment of the Palestinian state, and our people are aware of all the conspiracies that the occupation is plotting against our archaeological and historical sites.

Minister Hayek met wit
h the Governor of Hebron, Mr. Khaled Dodin, at the headquarters of the Hebron Governorate, where they discussed ways to develop joint work and overcome the obstacles and obstacles that surround a number of historical and archaeological sites in the Hebron Governorate. The Governor stressed the need to give the Hebron Governorate priority in the work of the Palestinian government, as it constitutes Hebron Governorate has approximately one million Palestinian citizens, all of whom have the right to pursue its concerns and discuss their problems

The Minister of Culture, Mr. Imad Hamdan, spoke about the reality of daily life inside the Old City and the occupation’s measures against the Palestinian citizens living in this town, reviewing the role of the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee in preserving this town and how to confront the occupation’s plans to control this old town.

In turn, the Minister of Local Government, Engineer Sami Hijjawi, stressed the importance of Hebron, stressing the need for all efforts to
be combined to advance this important town at the local and global levels due to its history and importance in the process of the Palestinian struggle, stressing the necessity of working to revive and restore it continuously through partnership with the competent institutions and authorities. .

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Hani Al-Hayek, inspected the village of Bani Al-Naim and the shrine of the Prophet Lot, where he met with the head of the municipal council, Mr. Fayez Taraira, a number of members of the municipal council, and the people of the village. He also inspected the archaeological site, the shrine of the Prophet Lot, and discussed ways to develop it.
