Hebron – Together – The Mayor of Hebron, Tayseer Abu Sneineh, participated in the fifteenth General Conference and the Thirty-third Administrative Council of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities, which was held in the Turkish city of Konya, and he was accompanied by the member of the Municipal Council, Engineer Abdul Rahman Badr, and the head of the Public Relations Department, Bilal Al-Muhtasib.
In his speech at the opening session of the conference, Abu Sneineh praised the great role played by the cooperation of Islamic cities and capitals in facing challenges and achieving renaissance and prosperity for Arab cities, stressing the importance of Arab brothers standing with Palestinian cities, especially in light of the difficult circumstances experienced by the Gaza Strip and the cities of the West Bank.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Organization, Engineer Omar Qadi, stressed the need to move forward in strengthening and consolidating relations between Islamic cities and capitals, p
ointing to the importance of advancing our Arab and Islamic societies, denouncing the practices of the occupation and the brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip, stressing the necessity of directing efforts to support the Palestinian people and the rights of the Palestinian people. In turn, the mayor of Bursa, Turkey, called for opening a special fund to support the Palestinian people and stand by them in this ordeal that Palestine is going through, announcing directing support to the Palestinian people.
On the sidelines of the conference, Abu Sneineh met with several mayors of Islamic and Turkish cities and capitals to emphasize deepening cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of municipal services and benefiting from their experiences in achieving sustainable development.
