Palestine was subjected to a series of cyber-attacks in the past three days, targeting a large number of commercial and economic establishments, which culminated in targeting hundreds of institutions with thousands of attacks per hour that led to flooding them with a huge flow of data and information in an attempt to impede their work. Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ishaq Sidr, said that the recent cyber-attacks were among the largest that Palestine has come under during the past years, explaining that these attacks operate by flooding companies’ servers with meaningless data, which affects their ability to provide services to their customers. He said the Palestinian Telecommunications Company confronted these attacks and limited their impact on the targeted companies from the first moment through coordination with the Ministry’s staff to neutralize the negative damage they cause to subscribers.
