Paris: The Grand Egyptian Museum has been awarded the prestigious Versailles International Prize, recognizing it as one of the seven most beautiful museums in the world for the year 2024. The accolade was announced during a celebration held at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Versailles International Prize has been awarded annually at UNESCO since 2015. The prize is part of a series of architectural competitions designed to highlight outstanding contemporary projects globally.
