H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and Bill Gates, Co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, discussed the challenges facing global climate action and the importance of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), which represents an exceptional milestone in driving collective climate action and global efforts to address the climate change fallout to ensure a more prosperous and sustainable future for humanity.
During the meeting, Bill Gates congratulated Sheikh Tahnoun on the occasion of the 52nd Union Day, wishing the UAE and its people continued prosperity, growth and development.
Sheikh Tahnoun and Bill Gates also touched on the importance of innovation and technology in finding sustainable and effective solutions to address environmental challenges, in addition to the necessity that innovation represents in dealing with these common global challenges, preserving the environment and its resources, and achieving sustainable development.
During the meet
ing, the two sides also deliberated on the importance of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the renewable energy sector to boost the efficiency and performance of their projects, stressing its role in finding solutions for a more sustainable future powered by clean and renewable energy and achieving net zero.
