Ismailia: Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), met with Derk te Bokkel, CEO of IHC Holland, to discuss possibilities for future collaboration. The meeting, which took place at the SCA headquarters in Ismailia, was attended by several SCA board members.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this meeting marked the first official visit by Derk te Bokkel as the CEO of IHC Holland to the SCA. The gathering underscored the strong and long-standing partnership between the two organizations.
During the discussions, Admiral Rabie expressed his interest in expanding the current partnership and exploring new avenues of cooperation, with a particular focus on localizing the construction of dredgers in Egyptian shipyards. He commended the performance of the “Mhab Mamish” and “Hussein Tantawy” dredgers, both products of IHC Holland, which have significantly contributed to the development of the Suez Canal’s southern sector.

A’s fleet and the acquisition of new dredgers and marine units equipped with the latest technologies to meet the Suez Canal’s growing demands. He highlighted the necessity of adopting environmentally friendly technologies in alignment with global maritime industry trends.
Bokkel, in response, reaffirmed IHC Holland’s dedication to its partnership with the SCA. He highlighted the successful track record of joint projects and expressed the company’s readiness to explore new cooperation opportunities. Bokkel also emphasized IHC Holland’s adoption of new technologies in dredger construction, which allows for the use of both traditional and green fuels, offering flexibility and addressing the evolving needs of the maritime industry.
