Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel el Wazir said the state aims at turning Egypt into a regional center for trade, maritime transport and transit.

He said that the world is passing through several challenges that demand achieving international cooperation to face these challenges, adding that we should work together to guarantee a better future for everyone.

This came in a special session in the activities of the 2nd day of first Cairo forum held by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies for the first time in Egypt.

Attending the event aims at reaching points of view and unifying efforts of major intellectual thinking centers for a continuous dialogue in addition to analyzing what is taking place internally and abroad, Wazir said.

In spite of the continuous conflicts in the world which affect the economies of the countries, Egypt is standing on a solid ground and is capable of overcoming all the challenges and crises, he said.

Egypt has a main role in the peace efforts
in the region and works on promoting its role in the international arena via participating in mediation efforts and attempts to find peaceful solutions to the regional and international conflicts, he added.
