Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi met with the swimmers taking part in the 3 attempts to cross the English Channel.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to help all athletes in all sports activities.
The Minister of Youth and Sports affirmed the Ministry’s support for the champion athletes to achieve record numbers.
The meeting dealt with identifying the timing of the implementation of these attempts, as the first attempts begin with an individual attempt by swimmer Wael Al-Gharabawi (57 years), starting from the city of Dover in England to Calais in France during the period from June 19-26.
The appropriate day for swimming is determined according to the climatic developments such as water currents and other technical matters to implement these attempts.
