Rome: Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy congratulated Abdelrahman Tolba, a member of Egypt’s national fencing team, for winning bronze at the 2025 FIE Fencing Grand Prix Foil in Italy held from February 7 to 9.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Tolba put in a strong performance, defeating the world’s No.1 fencer, a double Olympic gold medalist from Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024, with a 15-12 victory. He also secured a win against Italy’s national champion.

For his part, Sobhy praised Egypt’s continued progress in fencing, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting athletes and helping them compete at the highest levels internationally.
