Sport Minister Arrives in Riyadh for Sports Investment Forum Participation


Riyadh: Dr Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports and President of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, has arrived in the Saudi capital to participate in the Sports Investment Forum (SIF).

According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum, under the slogan “Ambitious Sports Investment,” will run until 9 April and includes participation from regional and international sports leaders. Dr Sobhi was welcomed at Riyadh Airport by Saudi Deputy Minister of Sports, Badr Al-Qadi, emphasizing the strong bilateral relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in sports and a mutual interest in sharing expertise and enhancing cooperation.

Dr Sobhi will engage in the forum’s second session, titled “Egypt’s Future Vision for the Sports Sector,” where he will outline Egypt’s strategy for sports system development, investment enhancement, and private sector empowerment, all contributing to sustainable development. The forum serves as a global platform to highlight opportunities
in sports investment, gathering major investors, decision-makers, and sports institutions to foster international partnerships and share best practices in sports infrastructure and economic activities.

Dr Sobhi stated that Egypt’s involvement in the forum reflects the country’s commitment to maintaining a significant presence in international forums and strengthening cooperative relations with other nations. He noted that sports are a component of Egypt’s soft power, and through the forum, Egypt aims to exchange experiences and showcase its sports sector development efforts, aligning with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the goal of sustainable development.
