The Special Olympics UAE team will participate in the 2024 Special Olympics Malta – National Games, which will be held from 12th to 15th September.
The delegation includes 20 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities, accompanied by 12 technical and administrative staff members. The athletes were selected from various clubs for People of Determination across the UAE.
On Friday, the Special Olympics UAE kicked off a four-day training camp in preparation for the Games, supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. The camp includes training in five sports the team will compete in: swimming, table tennis, athletics, football, and bocce.
