Amman: A total of about 158,263 Jordanian families benefited from of the Ministry of Social Development’s in-kind and cash assistance during the past year.
According to a ministry’s report sent to “Petra’ on Sunday, a total of number of 2,487 poor households benefited from emergency aid with a total value of JD266,708, while 94,300 families benefited from Royal initiatives at a total value of JD8,618,500.
Moreover, 49,571 families benefited from the purchasing vouchers with a total value of JD147,130, while 11,905 households received aid from foreign organizations, associations and donors, the report showed.
During the past year, 30 e-services were launched to license a nursery for the first time, renew an annual nursery license, register a local association and branches of foreign associations, and other online transactions to serve Jordan’s social development sector.
The report noted work is underway to digitize the ministry’s services within Services Development Project, in cooperation with the Ministr
y of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
A total of 57 e-services will be launched during the coming period, the report said, adding that future steps aim to establish a central camera control room as a supervisory tool to protect beneficiaries, launch an e-platform for financing and lending for small productive projects and businesses, and create a unified e-platform for cash and in-kind assistance.
