Cairo: Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, met with Mr. Ibiswa Yu, the new Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Egypt, alongside Ms. Amira Taj, the General Director of the General Administration for International Relations and Agreements. The focus of the meeting was to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and JICA, particularly in their joint project titled “Improving the Quality of Early Childhood Development”. The Minister warmly welcomed Mr. Yu, wishing him success in his new role and commending the ongoing collaboration that has resulted in the establishment of a reception centre for employees’ children at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, following the Japanese model.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Maya Morsi highlighted that all nurseries to be established in the New Administrative Capital will adhere to the Japanese model. She announced that a third reception centre is set to open following the inauguration of the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Social Solidarity centres, expected to be ready before the end of Ramadan. Dr. Morsi emphasized that the recently opened reception centre at the ministry’s headquarters is historically the first government entity centre established on the Japanese model. This initiative aligns with the directives of the President during his visit to Japan to apply the Japanese model in various nurseries nationwide.
Mr. Ibiswa Yu expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, stating that the JICA team is committed to supporting this partnership. He noted that JICA will maintain an office in the New Administrative Capital and will strive to strengthen cooperation with the ministry in the future.
