Cairo: Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy recently reviewed the ongoing efforts by the ministry to support the Palestinian people amidst the humanitarian crises they have been facing since the onset of the conflict. Morsy addressed a meeting of the Egyptian Red Crescent Board of Directors, focusing on the response efforts since January, during which Egypt has been a major contributor to humanitarian and relief aid for Palestinians.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting discussed various services provided to the injured and their companions, including medical examinations, medication distribution, personal hygiene kits, psychological support, health awareness initiatives, reuniting families, and supplying children’s necessities and food baskets.
The discussions also covered the outcomes of a visit by Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), to Egypt. Forbes met with state officials and visited the Egyptian Red Crescent’s general center. She commended the Egyptian Red Crescent’s efforts in responding to humanitarian crises, particularly in relation to the Gaza situation, and emphasized the importance of maintaining support for the organization’s humanitarian role.
