President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the bodies concerned to consolidate the efforts under way for establishing a full-service global car city along Cairo-Ain Sokhna highway.
Sisi made the directives during a meeting with Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority (AFEA) Maj. Gen. Ihab el Far, and a host of senior officials from the authority.
Sisi followed up on the construction progress and architectural designs of a number of projects undertaken by the authority nationwide, especially in the New Administrative Capital, including the new parliament premises, Egypt’s Islamic Cultural Center, Misr Mosque, and the diplomatic district buildings.
The president was also briefed on the construction progress of the New Galala City project as well as studies for making the best use of the areas surrounding Al-Asmarat District, Mokattam, Cairo.
He also checked on the pace of work in some road projects in Eastern Cairo and a project to upgrade El Dabaa road, which will serve as a lifeline for the mammoth “New Delta” agricultural project.
