Sisi supports women as partners in reviving national economy

Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan expressed on Monday the keenness of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the government on offering all forms of support to Egyptian women who are main partners in promoting the society and the national economy.

The minister’s statements came during the inauguration of the “North Africa Conference on Gender Equality” organized virtually by the International Labor Organization.

The four-day conference will shed light on the progress achieved by north African countries, namely Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, to support gender equality in the field of employment.

The minister referred to Sisi’s support to women through launching the national strategy for empowering Egyptian women 2030 and his declaration that 2017 was the year of shedding light on women’s constitutional, legal, social and political rights.

Saafan added that his ministry also seeks to extend all forms of support to women in the workplace, pointing out to the establishment of a central unit to achieve gender equality, enable women economically and eliminate all forms of discrimination against them.
