President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Sunday 24/04/2022 with Jordanian King Abdullah II and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Ittihadia Palace.
Sisi hosted an Iftar banquet in honour of the two leaders, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
During their meeting, the President hailed deeply-rooted relations binding the three countries.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s keenness to boost constructive cooperation between Egypt, Jordan and the UAE, and move together towards broad horizons of strategic partnership that establishes extended relations and achieves common interests, and helps promote joint Arab action, especially in light of great challenges facing the region, as well as the economic and social crises resulting from regional and international developments.
In their turn, the two guests hailed the close ties that bring together the three countries, stressing their keenness to promote cooperation with Egypt to the strategic partnership level, for the benefit of the brotherly peoples, in a manner that maximizes their benefit from joint opportunities and potentials.
Joint relations represent a cornerstone for maintaining regional security and stability and restoring balance to the region, in light of the pivotal importance of Egypt, Jordan and the UAE regionally and internationally, the two leaders added.
The meeting tackled the latest developments of the various cooperation tracks between Egypt, Jordan and the UAE, as the three leaders agreed to continue coordination and consultation on all issues and files of mutual interest, with the aim of unifying visions and actions, supporting joint Arab action and making the necessary efforts to preserve Arab national security.
The three leaders also reviewed the latest regional developments, especially the Middle East peace process, in light of the current situation in Jerusalem, stressing the importance of sustaining efforts to restore calm in the holy city, and the need to respect the legal and historical situation of Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
The leaders affirmed respect for the role of the historical Hashemite custodianship of Jerusalem holy sites and the need to provide all forms of support to the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, as well as the importance of stopping all Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution and the need to find a political horizon for resuming serious and effective negotiations to resolve the Palestinian cause in accordance with international law.
They also exchanged views on several international issues, especially the developments of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and the Arab role in this regard.
The leader called on the international community to give priority to dialogue and diplomatic solutions to avoid aggravating the humanitarian and economic situations and their impact on the region and the world.
