Sisi: Maintaining security, safety of citizens highest priority

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed that maintaining the security and safety of the state and citizens remains the highest priority that could only be realized in the presence of a well-aware police apparatus.

Speaking during a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of Police Day Sunday, Sisi said policemen could prove in the Ismailia battle in 1952 that self-belief was needed to defend nations the same way ammunition always was.

Sisi paid tribute to police martyrs and their families, noting that their sacrifices won’t be forgotten.

What police do to maintain security and stability and fight terrorism tells a lot about the heroism of policemen, who are well aware of the value of belonging to this homeland, Sisi said.

Sisi underscored big achievements to eliminate terrorism, noting that this was reached through sacrifices of policemen.

“Our sons who sacrificed themselves paid a precious price for the nation to live in safety and to secure the lives of more than 100 million Egyptians,” Sisi said.

Over the past seven years, policemen have sacrificed a lot to help achieve development and prosperity, and to build a strong and new Egypt, he noted.
