President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up on Friday with the ongoing construction works to develop new roads and axes in Greater Cairo, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

During his inspection tour, Sisi was keen to refute what had been circulated about the demolition of tombs and historic sites during development works of Cairo’s southern roads.

According to Radi, Sisi asserted the importance of not being dragged to deliberate attempts by some sides to belittle tremendous efforts exerted by the State to reduce pollution and ease traffic congestion on one hand and preserving the country’s historic sites on the other hand.

Sisi inspected the work-in-progress of Yasser Farag and Samera Moussa Axes in addition to Mohamed Ezzat Adel Axis.
