President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed on Thursday 31/32022 hope that Italy’s Eni Company would continue exploration works in Egypt to guarantee the best exploitation of the country’s energy resources.
The President promised to iron out any hurdles facing the company in Egypt.
Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of the Italian company under CEO Claudio Descalzi in the presence of Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla.
Presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said Sisi lauded partnership with the Italian company and its activities in Egypt that are carried out in accordance with the latest standards.
Descalzi stressed that the Egyptian market is one of the most important markets the company is operating in worldwide in light of the promising investment opportunities now available in the energy sector.
He reviewed the current cooperation between the company and the Egyptian government bodies and companies especially as regards natural gas production and exportation of liquefied gas.
He lauded the boom achieved by Egypt in the domain of liquefied natural gas, saying it now occupies a pivotal position in the Mediterranean region.
The meeting tackled Eni’s contributions in the new and renewable energy domain, especially as regards green hydrogen production.
