President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded on Friday the ongoing development in Egyptian-Cypriot relations and progress in their bilateral cooperation as well as the Cypriot supportive stances toward Egypt in regional and international events.
President Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades during their participation in the 6th European Union-African Union Summit in Brussels, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to continue cooperation and intensify consultation about issues of common interest with Cyprus whether at the bilateral level or the tripartite level with Greece.
Anastasiades, for his part, praised the strong relations with Egypt, saying his country looks forward to achieving more steps towards bolstering cooperation in light of Egypt’s main role in achieving stability in the Middle East, countering terrorism, and illegal immigration.
The two presidents affirmed the importance of moving forward in implementing joint projects.
