President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has extended his heartfelt condolences to King Abdullah II of Jordan and all the Jordanian people over the victims of a tragic accident caused by a gas leak in the port of Aqaba yesterday.
During a phone call with the Jordanian monarch on Tuesday28/6/2022, Sisi, who is currently on a visit to Manama, Bahrain, also offered his deepest sympathies to the victims’ families, wishing the wounded speedy recovery, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.
Thanking President Sisi for his brotherly gesture, King Abdullah commended the strong historical ties between the two sisterly Arab nations.
A crane loading chlorine tanks onto a ship in Jordan’s port of Aqaba on Monday dropped one of them, causing a huge explosion of toxic yellow smoke that reportedly killed 13 people and left over 250 others injured.
