Sisi: Egypt keen on developing cooperation with Omani businessmen, companies

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday 28/6/2022 asserted Egypt’s keenness on developing its economic and trade relations with the Omani business community and companies to bolster joint investments and contribute to achieving economic growth for both countries.

Sisi’s remarks were made during his meeting with representatives of the Omani business community and chiefs of major companies along with a galaxy of senior Omani officials.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said the meeting started with a screening of a documentary film on the developmental and economic achievements realized in Egypt over the past years.

Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed also reviewed the investment mechanisms and opportunities available in Egypt in the various sectors, the spokesman said, adding that President Sisi welcomed such meeting which crystallizes the outstanding and brotherly cooperation between Egypt and Oman.

Sisi also praised the progress made in the economic and trade ties between the two countries over the past phase, explaining that current mega projects which are currently under way in Egypt provided a chance for a variety of investment opportunities especially in the Suez Canal Development Axis which houses a number of industrial and logistic zones that Omani companies could optimize.

The categorical leap that Egypt has recently witnessed in the various developmental sectors reflected a strong will by the state, including the government and the people, to achieve a sustainable development, a matter which could positively impact the Egyptian-Oman ties and open the door for maximizing Omani investments in Egypt in the various sectors, Sisi asserted.

Sisi also pointed out that the outstanding sisterly relations binding the two countries provide a real umbrella for backing all efforts to upgrade joint cooperation in the various economic fields in the presence of necessary political will.

Meanwhile, Omani senior officials and businessmen voiced great honor over meeting the Egyptian president, asserting that they are aspiring for exploring potentials of joint cooperation especially in view of the current investment opportunities in Egypt in the fields of harbors, shipping, transport, tourism, construction, real estate and automobile industry.

They also pointed out to the potentials of benefiting from the free trade agreements signed between Egypt and a number of African and European states to ease products entry to such markets.

The attendees also praised the regular and continuous follow-up of President Sisi to all measures aimed at easing the flow of Omani investments to Egypt, praising the notable growth of the Egyptian economy which is supported by the governmental measures to accelerate the development process nationwide.

The meeting witnessed an open dialogue among the Egyptian and Omani sides as they asserted the need for intensifying cooperation for the best interests of both sides.

The meeting also covered up Egypt’s investment plan and its current mega projects in the various fields and the importance of enhancing contacts between representatives of the private sector in both countries.
