Sisi :Egypt, India seeking to establish strategic partnership

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Wednesday 25/1/2023 that Egypt and India are seeking to upgrade bilateral ties to a strategic partnership.

Sisi, currently on a visit here, spoke during a press conference of what he called “integrated” capabilities of Egypt and India that could lead to a “solid system” in the face of common challenges and the emerging global crises, such as energy and food.

Sisi is in India as a guest of honor in a ceremony to mark the Republic Day, which falls on January 26.

“May I extend sincere greetings to the friendly country of India, its government and people,” Sisi told reporters at the Indian presidential palace, wishing the South Asian country further prosperity, security, peace, progress and development.

This year Cairo and New Delhi mark 75 years of diplomatic relations, the president said, noting that bilateral cooperation has witnessed a quantum leap at all levels.

This visit is a good chance for the two countries to coordinate stances regarding the different regional and international files that directly affect national security, Sisi said.
