Cairo: Over the course of three days, the State Information Service (SIS), under the leadership of journalist Diaa Rashwan, organized the first-ever Internal Media Forum. The event brought together media professionals from SIS’s 96 media centers spread across all Egyptian governorates.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Ahmed Yehia, Head of the Internal Media Sector at SIS, stated that the forum, which commenced on Sunday, February 16, aimed at equipping 80 media leaders and professionals from Cairo and various governorates with a comprehensive understanding of regional developments and their impact on Egypt. Additionally, the event highlighted the country’s ongoing comprehensive development efforts.
He added that the goal is to enhance the skills and knowledge of internal media professionals, enabling them to effectively communicate these updates to the public and fulfill their role in community awareness.
The forum featured a series of workshops and lectures delivered by prominent national
figures and academics, including strategic expert Major General Dr. Samir Farag, media specialist Dr. Yasser Abdel Aziz, political science professor Dr. Ahmed Khamis from Helwan University, religious scholar Dr. Yousry Azzam, and technology and artificial intelligence expert Dr. Mohamed Hegazy. Their lectures covered strategic, social, media, and international political affairs, as well as general cultural topics.
As part of the forum’s activities, attendees participated in field visits, including a tour of the New Administrative Capital, organized in coordination with the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company. They also visited the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), where they received an in-depth briefing on the center’s research and reports. The session also highlighted IDSC’s role in countering misinformation through scientific methods-an initiative that is expected to enhance participants’ effectiveness in developmental media and public awareness efforts.
