Head Of Astronomy Department of the National Research Institute of Astronomy & Geophysics Ashraf Shaker said on Thursday 14/7/2022 the Grand Egyptian Astronomical Observatory (Sinai Observatory) will be established on the top of a mountain in South Sinai after four years.
Shaker told MENA that the new observatory would replace the one in Kattamia which will be a global training center after the establishment of the New Adminitrative Capital.
The new observatory will be equipped with a 6.5-m astronomical telescope, using the same technology as the European Southern Observatory, he added.
