Sierra Leone President Commends Egypt Visit, Highlights Sisi’s Role in African Development


Cairo: Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Wonie Bio praised his visit to Egypt and acknowledged President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s wisdom and vision in advancing Africa’s development.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the Sierra Leone presidency released a statement noting that the visit marked a significant step forward in enhancing diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations. President Sisi emphasized the robust ties between Egypt and Sierra Leone and the potential for deeper collaboration.



President Bio highlighted the productive discussions with President Sisi, which centered on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional issues. Both leaders agreed on the importance of expanding economic cooperation across various sectors, including agriculture, health, transport, aviation, navy, fisheries, defense, education, and political cooperation.



The statement also mentioned President Bio’s commitment to global peace and security, commending Sierra Leone’s role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). During the visit, the presidents oversaw the signing of several memorandums of understanding aimed at enhancing bilateral relations across different sectors.



Additionally, the statement emphasized Sierra Leone’s focus on agricultural development and its eagerness to explore cooperation opportunities with Egypt in this area.
