Shoukry, NATO Secretary Discuss Efforts to Launch ITPP Program


Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed with NATO Secretary General. Jens Stoltenberg means to deepen mechanisms of joint consultation towards the issues of mutual interest and the efforts exerted to launch Individually Tailored Partnership Program (ITPP) that organizes relations between both sides.

This came during Shoukry’s meeting with Stoltenberg on the sidelines of the foreign minister’s visit to Brussels to preside over the 10th meeting of the EU-Egypt Association Council.

The meeting comes within the framework of the keenness to consult with NATO on the bilateral cooperation developments and the latest developments of the current regional crises, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

They asserted the growth of relations between Egypt and the NATO, the spokesman said, adding that this was reflected on increasing the high-level visits in 2023.

Shoukry and Stoltenberg said that they are looking forward to launching the program as soon as possible to pave the way for boosting coope
ration in the different fields of mutual interest especially in the fields of building abilities and expertise and combating terror in addition to cooperation in demining.

Stoltenberg lauded the partnership between Egypt and NATO, asserting his appreciation for the pivotal role of Egypt in the region and its contribution to boost security and stability in it.

The meeting also tackled exchanging points of view and assessment of a number of issues in the region topped by the crisis in Gaza and the future of the Palestinian cause in addition to the developments taking place in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, Abu Zeid said.

Meanwhile, Stoltenberg expressed interest in cooperating with Egypt to build the Africa’s capabilities.
