Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the President Designate of the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), met on Tuesday 7/6/2022 with Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Patricia Espinosa on the sidelines of the 56th session of the UNFCCC subsidiary bodies meetings, held in the German city of Bonn.
The two sides emphasized the importance of the two subsidiary bodies of UNFCCC in enhancing global climate action, especially with regard to providing scientific and technological advice as well as the implementation of climate pledges and related agreements, topped by the Paris Agreement, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.
They also agreed on the significance of the meetings held by the two subsidiary bodies for ensuring the success of COP27, which will be hosted and chaired by Egypt in November, added the spokesman.
