Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has called on African countries to solve their problems through African political means.
Delivering Egypt’s address on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the activities of the AU Peace and Security Council (AUPSC), Shoukry said the AU summit this year coincides with regional and international crucial conditions requiring cooperation to face existing challenges.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Shoukry called for dealing with the challenges from a comprehensive perspective tackling Africa’s security threats and finding solutions to social and economic problems.
He said the foreign minister tackled the conditions in Sudan in light of the progress in the field of stability after the end of the transitional period.
Shoukry called for providing support to Libya to encourage them hold parliamentary and presidential elections to restore the sovereignty and stability to the north African country.
