Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) hosted the third Financial Forum of 2024 on Thursday at the Holy Quran Academy, with representatives from over 100 governmental and independent entities attending to discuss methodologies for pricing government services and using an electronic system guide to determine fees.
The forum drew participation from SFD directors and specialised managers working within financial departments across Sharjah’s institutions and government entities.
Arwa Al Owais, Director of the Financial Policies Office at SFD, said the department is focused on enhancing the financial performance of government agencies, aligning efforts to boost revenues and attract investment, and achieving sustainability in public financial services.
Huda Al Yassi, Director of the Financial System Department at SFD, emphasised the forum’s role in fostering financial literacy and adopting innovative tools for pricing government services, as per Sharjah Executive Council Decision No. 23 of 2019. She noted the develop
ment of an electronic system to determine the value of service fees.
Dr. Falah Al Hussaini, Advisor to the Tax Affairs Office ad the department, outlined the service pricing methodology, with a detailed presentation on the electronic system for calculating fees to ensure competitiveness and financial sustainability.
The forum also reviewed the legislative process for fee approval and included a live demonstration of the electronic system, capable of retrieving financial data and calculating fees in seconds.
