SHARJAH: The Sharjah Press Club (SPC), operating under the umbrella of Sharjah Government Media Bureau, organised a dialogue session on Tuesday as a part of its Tawasul initiative, bringing together representatives from the media and senior Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) officials at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.

The session was attended by Aisha Rashid Ali Bin Deemas, Director-General of the Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA), Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Asma Al Juwaied, Manager of the Sharjah Press Club (SPC).

Allay opened the meeting by lauding the vital role played by the SMA in promoting the Arab and Islamic culture at home and around the world. He emphasised the need for strong collaboration between media stakeholders and government agencies to effectively disseminate vital messages to the community.

Speaking on the occasion, Bin Deemas elaborated the strategy and mission
of the SMA, which is guided by the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

She underscored the authority’s key role in promoting Sharjah’s – and UAE’s – culture and tourism, and education opportunities through its 16 world-class museums, celebrating themes like art, history, Islamic culture, archaeology, heritage, science, and marine life.

The SMA Director-General also disclosed that the number of visitors to Sharjah Museums had crossed 1.7 million in 2023. She reaffirmed the authority’s dedication to making its publications and media materials available in multiple languages, including English, German, and Urdu in order to disseminate its cultural message worldwide.
