Sharjah: Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), presided over the first procedural session of the SCC, during which the council deliberated on the establishment of its permanent committees.
The permanent committees include the Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee; the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee; the Education, Youth, Culture and Media Affairs Committee; the Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee; the Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Facilities Committee; the Family Affairs Committee; and the Recommendations Preparation Committee.
The council reached a consensus to maintain these permanent committees.
The committees were kept as follows:
Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee, which included: Mohammed Ali Jaber Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Committee; Hamad Abdul Wahab Al Qawadi, Rapporteur of the Committee; Mohammed
Saleh Al Ali, Khalifa Mohammed Bu Ghanem, Obaid Ishaq Al Mazmi, Hamad Abdullah Hamed Al Riyami, and Rashed Saleh Al Hammadi.
The Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee included: Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden as Chairman of the Committee; Fatima Khalifa Al Muqrab as Rapporteur of the Committee; Amer Mohammed Al Zarouni, Nabil bin Butti Al Muhairi, Abdullah Taresh Al Ketbi, Tariq Murad Mirza Al Belushi, and Mohammed Abdullah Al Belushi.
As for the Education, Youth, Culture and Media Affairs Committee, it included: Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi as Chairperson of the Committee; Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi as Rapporteur of the Committee; Kalthum Saif Al Tunaiji, Sheikha Khalfan Salem Al Dhain Al Naqbi, Moza Muadhd Bin Huwaiden, Yousef Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Mohammed Ali Al Mannai.
The Health, Labor and Social Affairs Committee included: Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Chairman of the Committee; Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Rapporteur of the Committee; Dr. Ruqayya Rashid Al Zaabi, Issa Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni, Ali Salem A
l Shamsi, Ahmed Salem Humaidi Al Ketbi, and Khalfan Saif Al Mesafri.
The Committee for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Facilities included: Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi as Chairman of the Committee; Ahmed Rashid Al Shamsi as Rapporteur of the Committee; Sultan Saeed Dalmouk Al Suwaidi, Majid Ahmed Al Darwishi Al Shamsi, Fatima Mohammed Khasouni Al Ketbi, Ahmed Obaid Al Awasiyah Al Zaabi, and Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi.
The Family Committee included: Saeed Matar bin Hamed Al Tunaiji as Chairman of the Committee; Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi as Rapporteur of the Committee; Abdullah Ali Al Badawi Al Hosani, Abdullah Rashid Ma’dan Al Ketbi, Abdullah Salem bin Tarish Al Kaabi, Mohammed Ahmed Al Alawi Al Dhahouri, and Hamid Obaid Al Hamoudi.
The committee preparing the draft recommendations included: Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee; Dr. Sultan Khamis Al Zaabi, Rapporteur of the Committee; Ibrahim Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri, Issa Abdullah Al Ka
lbani, Sultan Ali Al Masafri, Obaid Ahmed Khasaw Al Naqbi, and Mohammed Ali Bin Salim Al Ketbi.
During the current session, the council elected Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi and Dr. Ruqayya Rashid Al Zaabi as observers. Dr. Ruqayya Al Zaabi was chosen as the first woman to hold this position since its establishment.
The council’s consensus represents a significant and ongoing effort to empower women. It underscores the council’s dedication to fostering women’s participation and enhancing their active role within the parliamentary sphere.
The council’s upcoming session, scheduled as the second session, is set to take place on 24th October. The main agenda of the session is to deliberate on a proposed legislation aimed at governing the activities of the Sharjah Digital Department.
