Sharjah Airport participates in 1st GCC Airports CEOs Forum

SHARJAH: Sharjah Airport has announced its participation in the first GCC Airports CEOs Forum in Muscat, Oman.

The forum aims to strengthen collaboration among Gulf airports, enhance infrastructure, and improve logistical services to meet the growing demands of the region’s air travel industry.

It also aims to drive economic development while addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by global changes in the aviation sector.

Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), highlighted the importance of participating in the forum, noting that it reflects Sharjah Airport’s commitment to enhancing cooperation among GCC airports to support the aviation sector at regional and international levels. The goal is to provide distinguished and pioneering services to passengers while meeting sustainability requirements in the travel and aviation sectors.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Aimen bin Ahmed Al Hosni, CEO of Oman Airports, underscored the significance of cooperation among Gulf airports in achievin
g sustainable development and global competitiveness. He noted that collaboration accelerates innovation, strengthens infrastructure, and contributes to the long-term growth of the aviation industry.

He emphasised, “Through this forum, we aim to build strong partnerships among GCC airports, enabling us to effectively address future challenges, whether related to digital transformation, safety and security requirements, or improving the passenger experience. The formation of a regional bloc for GCC airports gives us a global competitive edge, allowing us to achieve strategic gains and enhance our ability to adapt to the rapid developments in the aviation and air transport sectors.”
