Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy lauded the level of brotherly and historic ties between Egypt and the UAE in the different domains.
During a meeting here with a delegation from Mohammed bin Rashid al- Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) led by the foundation’s CEO Jamal bin Huwaireb the minister and members of the delegation resumed discussions on the literacy project and developing the abilities of youth and women in the governorates, especially within the framework of the program of developing the Egyptian countryside as part of the Presidential Initiative “Decent Life”.
Shaarawy pointed out to the attention paid by the President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to build and develop the Egyptian citizen.
He said that there would be several interventions, mainly in the fields of education and literacy to boost the efforts exerted by the Egyptian state to eradicate illiteracy within the framework of sustainable development strategy and Egypt Vision 2030 to achieve real development in the education field.
The state is working on making a comprehensive change in the villages of the Egyptian countryside via the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, transforming them into exemplary villages, eradicating poverty and illiteracy for a better life and creating new job opportunities to all the family members, with a view to empowering breadwinning women, Shaarawy said.
He referred to coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Local Development and all the ministries and bodies concerned with the literacy file in Egypt to achieve targets set by the state in this important file topped by the ministries of education, higher education and Council of Senior Scholars.
Shaarawy lauded the pivotal role of the MBRF in the Arab world and the world in general in all the different educational, scientific and cultural domains.
Meanwhile, bin Huwaireb asserted that the MBRF is ready to present all kinds of support to the literacy project in the villages and countryside to benefit the citizens in all the governorates.
Bin Huwaireb pointed out to the progress witnessed in Egypt under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in all the different domains, especially the economic, educational, health and infrastructure fields.
He said President Sisi is upgrading Egypt quickly in the different fields, adding that the world is following up “Decent Life” initiative that is meant to improve the living conditions of millions of citizens in the countryside.
