Severe humanitarian and health crisis hits northern Gaza

Gaza – Ma’an – The Union of Municipalities of the Northern Gaza Strip reported that the humanitarian and health situation in the northern Gaza Strip has greatly worsened due to the ongoing Israeli aggression, which has led to widespread destruction of infrastructure and vital facilities.

The union confirmed in a statement on Monday that hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip have been put out of service due to the ongoing bombing, which increases the suffering of patients and complicates the provision of health care.

The union pointed out that the occupation destroyed large areas of agricultural land and industrial facilities, which led to the loss of agricultural crops and the destruction of facilities that contributed to the region’s economy.

He stressed: The occupation destroyed more than one and a half million meters of road networks, damaged 95% of waste collection vehicles and trucks, in addition to destroying about 50 thousand dunums of agricultural land.

He explained: The northern Gaza Strip is faci
ng a severe fuel shortage, which has caused waste to pile up in the streets and threatens the spread of diseases and epidemics, especially with the absence of basic and health services.

He pointed out: With the destruction of infrastructure and the lack of basic services, the Union warned of the spread of diseases and epidemics as a result of the unsanitary and environmental conditions in which the population lives.

He added: This damage confirms the worsening humanitarian crisis in the northern Gaza Strip, and confirms the urgent need for urgent humanitarian and relief aid to alleviate the suffering of civilians.
