Extremist Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers, including pelting stones at them, today in the village of Umm al-Kheir, near the town of Yatta in the southern West Bank province of Hebron, according to local sources. Rateb Jabour, a local Palestinian official monitoring settler attacks in the area, told WAFA that a group of army-guarded Israeli fanatic settlers assaulted Palestinian civilians and shepherds in the village and in the neighboring hamlets of Al-Thaala and Al-Kharruba, causing bruises to some of them. Two Palestinians were reportedly arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in the village in the aftermath of the attack. The village is part of Masafer Yatta area, a collection of about 19 small Palestinian villages to the south of Hebron facing a risk of ethnic cleansing by the Israeli occupation authorities.
