Senate speaker hails deep, strong ties between Egypt, Iraq

Senate Speaker Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek hailed the strong and deep ties binding Egypt and Iraq in the various spheres.

The Egyptian government appreciates Iraq and its central role in the region, he added during his meeting Sunday with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al Halbousi and his accompanying delegation.

Abdel Razek, meanwhile, reiterated Egypt’s utmost keenness on promoting cooperation with Iraq in the various domains.

He further affirmed Egypt’s unwavering support to the unity of all Arab countries.

Egypt also supports joint Arab action, as part of its policy which is based on entrenching the Arab unity, he went on to say.

The Arab world is confronting daunting challenges, he said, adding that such challenges require attaining unity among all Arab countries.

For his part, the Iraqi parliament speaker thanked Egypt for the warm reception and hospitality he received during his stay.

He further hailed Egypt’s support to the Arab countries, especially in times of crisis.

He also referred to Egypt’s support to quake-stricken areas in Syria and Turkey.

Iraq appreciates its historical ties with Egypt, he affirmed, pointing out to its crucial role in preserving security and stability in Iraq.
