Senate President, Faisal Al-Fayez attended the celebration of the Jordanian Social Club in Dubai on the occasion of the Kingdom’s Independence Day and the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s assumption of his constitutional powers.
The ceremony was attended by Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Assem Ababneh, in addition to a number of Arab diplomats, representatives of the Community Development Authority in the Emirate of Dubai and a number of Jordanian businessmen, members of the Jordanian community in the United Arab Emirates and Emirati citizens, according to a Senate statement on Tuesday.
Al-Fayez said, “Jordanians commemorate Independence Day every year with a sense of pride. Independence, which was written by the will of our Hashemite leadership, and behind it our loyal people, is the title of our freedom and glory, and on its anniversary, Jordanians renew the march of their fathers and grandfathers who achieved independence with their sacrifices and the sacrifices of the
ir Hashemite leadership, assuming responsibility towards their homeland and looking resolutely to the future, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.”
Al-Fayez added that under the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordan began a new phase of national construction and achievement, represented by comprehensive reforms in its political, economic and administrative dimensions, with the aim of strengthening the democratic process, reaching programmatic parliamentary governments, empowering women and youth, facing economic challenges, improving the living conditions of citizens, providing the best services to them, increasing growth figures, and creating an attractive investment environment.
The Senate President pointed to Jordan’s steadfast positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom and independence, noting that since the era of the Emirate of Transjordan, Jordan has considered the Palestinia
n cause as its central issue and a priority in its foreign policy, and that Jordan’s positions under the leadership of King Abdullah are firm and clear, emphasizing the inevitability of resolving the Palestinian issue and enabling the Palestinian people to realize their rights to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Fayez thanked the UAE for the care and attention it provides to Jordanians residing on its soil, wishing it further progress and prosperity.
