SHARJAH: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired the SEC meeting held at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.
During its meeting, the SEC discussed a number of governmental topics on its agenda related to general policies for governmental work and reviewed performance reports of governmental departments and entities in various sectors.
The SEC issued a decision amending the powers of the Sharjah Government Medical Committee. The decision stipulated that the committee, in order to achieve its objectives, shall exercise the following powers:
1. Considering leaves submitted by the employee to the employer in accordance with Law No. (6) of 2015, including sick leave; leave to accompany a patient on treatment inside or outside the country; leave for being around a patient with an infectious disease; intermittent sick leave for chronic diseases; and any other leaves approved by the Supreme Committee for Hum
an Resources.
2. Approving or rejecting the leaves mentioned in Clause No. (1) of this decision, including amending their duration if necessary.
3. Reducing working hours and approving them for some categories of sick employees.
4. Seeking the assistance of whomever it deems appropriate from specialist doctors to express an opinion if necessary.
5. Coordinating with the relevant authorities to achieve the objectives of the committee.
6. Any other competencies assigned to the committee by the council.
The SEC reviewed the report on the performance of the general budget and the outputs of activities for the first half of 2024, which included indicators of the financial performance of the budget and its objectives.
The report also included a statement of the actual expenditures and revenues of government and independent entities according to the sectors of social development, government administration, economic development, infrastructure and capital projects.
