SCZone, China’s Yingtan City explore copper industry, logistics co-operation

Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Walid Gamal El-Din, received on Monday a delegation from the Chinese Yingtan City -led by Chairman of the Yingtan Municipal Committee for the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Huan Yun.

The two sides probed opportunities of strengthening co-operation, particularly in the copper industry, a key sector in Yingtan. They also explored the possibility of enhancing logistics co-operation and attracting Chinese companies looking to expand abroad.

Gamal El-Din expressed the SCZone’s interest in partnering with Yingtan’s business community.

He highlighted the SCZone’s unique investment incentives and competitive advantages, including the strategic location, offering access to approximately two billion consumers.

The SCZone chief pointed out the growing global demand on metal industries, particularly copper.

The two sides also discussed the potential for logistics co-operation between Guixi port at the Chinese Yingtan City and SCZone’s ports on th
e Red Sea and Mediterranean.

Gamal El-Din also emphasized the success of Chinese investments in the SCZone, which reflects the strong confidence of international investors, not just from China but globally.

For his part, Mr Huan Yun expressed his pleasure in visiting the SCZone and learning firsthand about the opportunities available to investors, especially given the successful Chinese investments in the area.

He affirmed his readiness to cooperate with the SCZone in areas of mutual interest, whether in industrial activities or logistics.
