Suez Canal Authority (SCA) issued a new navigation circular to encourage tourist yachts to transit the Suez Canal and attract them to boost tourism in the Red Sea.

In a press release on Saturday 12/10/2024, SCA said it has made several decisions within the framework of flexible marketing policies of the authority.

Under the circular, yachts (small vessels) with a total tonnage of less than 300 tons (SCGT) shall be eligible for transit incentives; yachts traveling from the north to the Red Sea will receive a 20% discount on transit fees for the return journey, provided they cross the Suez Canal again from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean within a maximum of sixty (60) days from the initial trip.

Yachts that store at the Ismailia Yacht Marina for more than ninety (90) days will be granted a 20% discount on transit fees for the journey during which the storage occurred, regardless of whether the journey was from the north or south.

Yachts that arrive at an appropriate time for transit and moor at yacht Marin
a in Port Said or Suez to complete transit procedures will receive a 50% discount on mooring fees at these Marina, provided they do not stay overnight or use any services (electricity, water, etc.).
