Head of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabei said Saturday 02/04/2022 that more than 5,303 ships carrying a combined cargo of 313.3 million tons transited the Suez Canal during the first quarter of 2022.

The stats represent 15.8 percent increase against 4,581 vessels, with an aggregate cargo 291.7 million tons during the same period last year, he added.

Meantime, the Suez Canal revenues hit dlrs 1.691 billion, up 20 percent from 1.409 billion in the correspondent period, he added.
