Saudi envoy hands Palestinian PM financial support to address humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al Sudairi, handed over on Sunday, at the Embassy’s headquarters, the monthly financial support to Palestine to help address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings.

The Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Mustafa, said, “With this support, Saudi Arabia reaffirms the diligent efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to communicate with members of the international community to reach a ceasefire, protect civilians, and bring more humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and to ensure a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, enabling the Palestinian people to achieve all their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

The Palestinian Prime Minister stressed that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the Palestinian cause, which is its central and priority cause, pointing out that since the beginning of the c
risis, Saudi Arabia has exerted all possible efforts to contain the existing crisis in the Gaza Strip and address the critical humanitarian situation and managed to unify the Arab and Islamic position towards this crisis through its presidency of the ministerial committee assigned by the Extraordinary Joint Arab Islamic Summit to support the Palestine people, counter the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and break the siege imposed on it, which resulted in a number of friendly countries recognizing the State of Palestine and demanding that the State of Palestine be accepted as a full member of the United Nations.

This support comes as a continuation of the $5.3 billion in humanitarian, relief and development assistance provided by Saudi Arabia in recent years to the Palestinian people to help support Palestine.
