Amman: Some 1,833,164 pilgrims are performing the annual annual Hajj in Saudi Arabia this year, including more than 1.6 from Muslim and other countries, according to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics.
The number of male pilgrims was 958,137 and females 875,027, it said, quoted by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Pilgrims coming from Arab countries accounted for 22.3 percent of the total, non-Arab Asian countries 63.3 percent, non-Arab African countries 11.3 percent, and European, American, Australian and other world nations 3.2 per cent, it said.
It said 1,546,345 pilgrims arrived via airports, 60,251 through land crossings and 4,714 through sea ports.
