Pilgrimage program titled “Following in the Footsteps of Blessed Patriarch Estephan Douaihy,” organized by the Douaihy Patriarch Foundation and endorsed by Father Paul Kazzi (Transportation is provided), is scheduled as follows:
7:30 am Gathering at the courtyard of the Holy Spirit University – Kaslik, then departure to the Patriarchal Seat in Bkerke.
8:30 am Arrival at Bkerki to meet with Cardinal Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi and receive his blessing.
10:00 am Arrival at Wadi Qannoubine to visit the first shrine where Patriarch Douaihy was buried in the cave of Saint Marina, and a visit to the Monastery of Our Lady of Qannoubine.
12:30 pm Departure to Ehden to visit the statue of Patriarch Douaihy, and a meeting with Mrs. Rosette Zakhia Douaihy, who received the miraculous healing grace through the intercession of Patriarch Douaihy at the Mar Georges Church, followed by a visit to the Monastery of Mar Sarkis and Bakhos of the Antonine Monastic Order.
2:00 pm Lunch in Ehden, then return
to the starting point in Kaslik.
9:30 am Scientific seminar titled “The Economic Power of Nursing Care,” organized by the Nurses’ Syndicate in Lebanon to mark International Nurses Day, will be held at the Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand – Sin El Fil, under the patronage of the Minister of Public Health in the Caretaker Government, Dr. Firas Al-Abiad.
11:00 am Nebras Agricultural Complex, affiliated with the Social Care Institutions in Lebanon – Dar Al-Aytam Al-Islamiyya, in partnership with the Agricultural Heritage Association, will hold the Nebras Agricultural Products and Home-made Products Market at the Nebras Agricultural Complex – Kharaj Harba Ruhana, continuing until 6:00 pm.
12:00 pm Award ceremony and announcement of the results of the “My Environment Becomes More Beautiful” competition for the year 2023-2024, organized by the Environment Committee in the Coordination Meeting of Islamic Educational Institutions, at Al-Mahdi Secondary School – Haddath, under the patronage and presence of the Presid
ent of the Educational Center for Research and Development, Dr. Hayam Issac.
3:30 pm “Lebanon Imagines It” Association will organize a cultural art competition titled “My Homeland Knows Me,” at the Mar Youssef Secondary School for Antonine Nuns in Zahle – Ksara, with the participation of several schools from the Bekaa region, judged by artist Osama Rahbani and journalist Mona Abu Hamza, under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Culture in the Caretaker Government, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mourtada. The opening ceremony will be presented by journalist Tony Baroud. Monetary prizes and scholarships will be awarded to the winners.
5:00 pm Reopening ceremony of the Royal Museum in the Bishopric of Our Lady of Salvation in Zahle in its new form will take place, organized by the Bishopric of Zahlé and the Bekaa for the Royal Maronite Catholics and the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Lebanon, in cooperation with the “My Country” Association.
8:00 pm Poetry evening titled “To You the Rose, O M
ary,” organized by the George Lteif Literary and Poetic Forum and the Parish of Mar Elias, will be held at the Mar Elias Church Hall in Okeibeh.
